Our Mission:
To promote the awareness and expand the concept of figure skating as an art form in Milwaukee and surrounding communities.

The Ice Theater of Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization. We are the Artists-in-Residence at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, an Olympic training facility which also houses some of the nation's top speed skaters and competitive figure skaters who compete regionally, nationally, and internationally. We are very grateful to the Pettit Center for their support and for sharing in our vision.

Ice Theater is was the vision of the legendary John Curry 1976 Olympic Gold medalist, who started the first ice theater company in New York City. This is not the traditional "look" of a skating show, with sequined dresses, kicklines, or fuzzy animal costumes; this is something entirely different. Our focus is message based rather than competition and judging based, and the choreography is rooted in genuine artistic impression.

We explore skating from the point of view that it is a vehicle of expression, the same way a dancer uses movement. Our repertoire is as much rooted in modern dance, ballet, and jazz, as it is in figure skating, and the ice is our stage.
